Weight Loss Goals
SO many weight loss goals are so unattainable. Congratulations, you lost 20 pounds I’m so proud of you. But are you happy yet?
I am the girl who has obsessed over her weight for years. I weigh myself every day, and if I even gain 0.01 of a pound, I’m upset with myself. I can look in the mirror at that point and just see a big lump of fat. The next day, I would eat a little less, and drink a little more water. But I was still never happy with my weight.
Recently I came to the realization that my weight is not the problem. The scale is not everything, or anything really.
So instead of having a weight loss goal and pressuring yourself to lose ten pounds in the next two weeks by starving yourself, try this-
Go to the gym every day and walk on the treadmill, step on the stair master, or lift some weights. You can still count your calories every day, and you can still drink a gallon of water a day. Stay on your diet, but eat what makes you happy. If you want to go have a margarita with the girls after work, go have one. If you really, really want that Oreo, eat it.
But whatever you do, don’t weigh yourself for two weeks. Let being comfortable and happy with your body be your goal. Work on improving your quality of life and not punishing yourself after gaining a pound or two.
If you make your happiness a priority, I promise you will fall in love with health and fitness.
